The Oxford 10k and Run Gatwick 2018 Galleries now live, London Revolution Ride - still available to register

Fantastic days running at this years inaugural Run Gatwick Half, 5k and Family Fun Run - busy crowds lined the sides

Good morning on what is a lovely sunshiny day - it almost feels like summer is breaking through the weather at last - just in time for the street parties next Saturday.

Two big races that we covered at the weekend are now live for searching and ordering on the gallery. Please see the list below in the table for your gallery link !

If you took part in the two day Dulux Trade London Revolution Ride - then the live images that were shared and available during the event - powered by pic2go technology - can still be registered for and downloaded by registering here: http://pic2go.co.uk/register
Well done everyone in what was a challenging first days ride in the rain, you all seemed to recover from that 100miles for the 85 on Sunday quite well - not forgetting the ultra's who did the whole 185 on one day...

After last weeks post and with the flurry of emails and heightened interest in GDPR relating to event photography (zero questions or replies), I'm pleased to announce that I'll shortly be publishing a book. It's got a working title of "Nobody Cares (but it's sort of important)". Apologies for wasting the 30seconds last week it took for you to scroll past my wise words of experience, which are mostly irrelevant if the team action here is anything as proof...

Free downloads continue
Whilst we were out covering quite a lot of racing, it was noted we were not at the East Grinstead Tri, or the Marlow 5 race this year, which after 12 years of covering the EGTri and collecting a very nice wardrobe of various different race tops, was a bit of a shame (but honestly - five races in a weekend is tough enough). The simple reason us this: runners want their photos for free - included in the event price - you just have to look at the number of events that we have listed above which now include the images either live powered by Pic2Go or as free downloads after the event. It makes sense for the race, the sponsors and the publicity of the event - just as much as free Tshirts, medals and goody bags makes sense in the "Old media" advertising and promotion of the event - digital photos which people share online (for a very long time, unlike their medals) are equally important to a race organiser trying to raise charity funds or increase awareness for next years race entry - more people see a race photo than a race medal or you wearing your race T-Shirt - all packed into an increasingly crowded race calendar. We look forwards to increasingly move even more races over to the free downloads over the coming months and continuing to make people happy through the medium of sport photography !

In the meantime - as a quick heads up if you want us to do a PR job for four hours plus post processing and commercial license for £120, then you'll be wrong.

Some race highlights for you from Run Gatwick and the Oxford 10k Town and Gown.
In no particular order.

It's not the bridge of sighs, the course isn't that long.

This is not quidditch, and is not a dementor. Merton College taking it to the max.

Craig weighs up the situation ready to get "the shot"

fast running into the finish

Top fancy dress top hat wearing

excellent work by "Gown" to win the Town and Gown 2018

Flying into the finish

I don't recall Kevin Bacon mentioning his running in those EE adverts

Hard work - very good effort indeed !

Honestly - we didn't photo stage the 5k winner in a BA running vest...

He didn't tell anyone he was on a training run, but he still delivered at the end

flying in at the finish

Happy with the pacing job - bang on the 1:50 mark

Emma was pleased to reach the finish !

He got it wrong when he did it to his right middle finger previously...

Top teamwork with friends !

Top running in the Family Fun Run

Colin shared his love of martial arts

With the Eurovision finals on TV the night before, an excellent performance on the day

Sounding the charge of the light brigade, suddenly she realised she'd brought the wrong Bugle.

Easier said than done !!

Good to have a bit of cheerleading on the course. I'd quite like this when I get on a flight too.

Super runner - only done a few hundred marathons...

Iwan smashed out a fast 5k, he was a bit race nervous - good to see him on form - he's a big fan of parkrun

Fully focussed into the last turn

Cara - suffering for her sport, good to see my friends out and about

winner of the best running leggings of the day

Michelle - double thumbs up

That moment we all suffer at some point in a race - when it hits us like a confused geography teacher.

I so want to know what she's looking at on her phone...

Well done Ali !!

Full kit

Smashing it out

Adult running clothing is so boring by comparison

The London 10 gallery will be available shortly, and then the high resolution gallery for all the London Revolution Ride will be processed next - it's been a very very busy few days for us here.

Until next time, enjoy the sunshine and well done everyone on your achievements at the weekend - top work !
Anthony
