Veteran Car Run 2012 and Loseley Runs 2012 now live

A belated and brief update to the blog this week as we're a bit busy here in the office with admin and organising things and doing Press and PR work for the Veteran Car Run. A nice problem to have, apart from the sleep deprivation !

The Official 2012 Veteran Car Run gallery is now live and online here:

There's over 14,000 images fully catalogued and searchable by entrant number, car registration, make, owner and driver names. We even have some 19 cars that retired crossing the finish line !

Starting in the rain and the dark at Hyde Park, travelling south to Brighton we covered the route at 7 different points along the course, finishing at a windswept Madeira drive, and after about 1pm, with welcoming blue skies. The wind was so strong that for the first time in years there was no finish arch after it blew over in the night. As someone who has been hit by a falling scaffolding arch - I was more than happy about that decision !

The Loseley 10k and 4k run photos are now available here:

Raising money for the nearby Chase Hopsice the race takes place in the grounds and fields near the Loseley Estate. On Sunday the epic rain and gales cleared with moments to spare before the start of the race. Better that than the snow some people drove through to get to it !

Round 1 of the Thetford Mountain Bike winter series kicked off on Sunday through the mud and rain - they got wetter as the day went on and it cleared from London and the West.

It must be popular - as I type over 15% of all the images on the gallery have had copies of the watermarked images taken or attempted to be taken in the first two days of it being online. Top tip - if you buy the images David might be able to afford the fuel to get to the races to cover them - if you don't he can't as he's not paid any other way. Please support your photographer if you like his work and then he can work for you !

Next Events

With a weather forecast of sunshine, if a bit chilly - it's perfect running conditions this Sunday.
This weekend is the Poppy Half Marathon at Bexhill which is now fully sold out. Held at the sensible time of 12:30 so you can get there after your Rememberance Day services it's a very popular flat fast half marathon.

Also up is the Grand Union Canal Half Marathon, organised by Purple Patch Running - entries are still being taken on the day (online has closed so the admin can be done). It's very very flat, apart from the hilly bits by the locks, and finishes in Watfords Cassiobury park.

Unfortunately we are not going to be at the Phoenix Preston Park road races this year as the change in format and the business model over the past three years hasn't stacked up. Whilst we love covering races and running in them (and our own kids love running in this race) - as a work opportunity it's now moved on. It is however one of the best run junior race meets that we know, and it's not cross-country so a good introduction for lots of children to the sport. We don't know if our kids are going to be over their colds at the moment - if they are - they'll be there !

Until next time

Anthony
