Race planning - Still open for entries

Don't forget to enter !
Just a short pre-weekend update on the race outlook for the next few weeks.

Many of you will be targetting the big mass participation races like Brighton and London Marathons, looking for that last long run before the taper, or looking for an alternative that doesn't feel like one long queue. But I digress. Friendly fun sized races with plenty of places for family support are still available for you to enter across all the distances - just read on...

This Sunday March 27th (and don't forget the Clocks go forwards):

Worthing 20 are still taking entries on the day. 4 x 5mile laps - so good for supporter and refuelling stratgy testing: Race start 9am http://www.worthingharriers.com/worthing-20.php

Paddock Wood Half, Eastleigh 10k and the inaugural  Colchester Half are all sold out this weekend.

Saturday April the 2nd
Clandon Park 10k and 4k Fun Run - goes out of Guildford through the grounds of Clandon Park, and back in through the woods. Rare opportunity to run through the Earls Clandon House grounds. Entries still open: http://www.allabouttriathlons.co.uk/events_clandon-park-run.html

Sunday April 3rd

The Sussex Marathon, Battle, East Sussex. So, you want a marathon through the countryside ? Easy spots for supporters to view ? Not too fussed with a few hills and out and back section ? Don't want to be in a massive participation race but quite like a good crowd - then this is the one for you. Oh and it's going to be hilly - so no complaining. Go here and get in there:  http://www.sussexmarathon.co.uk/

Bournemouth Bay Runs - Half and 10k races - sorry already filled

Mels Milers 10k - nr Horsham at Christs School - Friendly 300 person 10k http://www.melsmilers.co.uk/mels_milers_10k_15.html

Theres also the Dartford 10 and the Croydon Half marathon on April the 3rd - if you fancy that.

That lot gets us up to the 10th of April, with The 7Oaks Triathlon, a 10k, Duathlon and Sportive at Dorney Lake Windsor, or of course the Brighton Marathon intentionally timed to be that week before London. All in all a very busy race calendar for the next three weeks - all distances somewhere with a place waiting for you.

Almost Archived
Finally - remember with all these new events coming into the gallery we will be archiving off older events - so please get your long forgotten photos from races like the Alice Holt, Denbies Bacchus Marathon, Pilgrim Marathon and the Sevenoaks Tri - all last September - before it's too late.

Brentwood Half Marathon last Sunday went off with great support, great crowds and was a great success

Whatever you do this weekend - make sure you enjoy it and have a good time. If none of those links were inspiring, have a look at the links under this news blog to find something else better to do with your time.

I estimate I'll have about 40,000 images to wade through from Sunday to get online after the races (that will be about 40 man hours of work to cram into 2 days) - so make sure you register for notifications via this news blog if you have not already done so to find out when your event gallery is live online asap.

Until next time, train safely and enjoy the lighter evenings !
Anthony
